A police probe is underway after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg during a violent gang fight on Thursday last week (7).

The teen was knifed at around 7.30pm in Tookey Close, near Fryent Country Park and rushed to Northwick Park Hospital as he lost blood from the wound.

Police were called after residents reported a number of youths brawling in the street and arrested two men - a 45-year-old and a 15-year-old - at the scene.

They were later bailed by officers and as of yet, no one has been charged.

The youngster's injuries were described as non life threatening and he has been released from hospital.

DC Edward Montague from Brent CID is calling on people who witnessed the attack to come forward

He said: "We are still trying to speak to residents about what's happened, but some people may be coy about coming forward.

"We know that there was a gathering of 10 or more youths in the vicinity and a scuffle broke out, resulting in the boy receiving a stab wound in the back of the leg.

"After the incident there was a lot of commotion out on the street and a lot of people came out to see what was happening.

"It is still fairly unclear about the exact details of what happened and we are urging witnesses to come forward."

Police investigators are continuing their enquiries and anyone with information should call Brent CID on 0208 7333159 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
