Wembley Youngsters Star in Christmas Play
Children as young as four took to the stage at Wembley Academy's first ever Christmas play yesterday.
There wasn't a dry eye in the packed house as more than 50 pupils performed
Jesus in the Manger at the school in Forty Avenue.
The youngsters were dressed as shepherds, sheep, the three kings and there was also a Mary, Joseph and innkeeper.
Ark Academy Primary School Headteacher, Jacqueline Steele, said:
"I'm really proud of all our pupils. They all worked really hard to learn their lines and their singing was amazing. I'm delighted that everyone rose to the challenge and our cast and their families all thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Most of our pupils are only four so it was an ambitious event but their achievements show that it's worth trying difficult things as they were completely brilliant. The fact that every child took part meant that everyone had the chance to boost their confidence about standing up in public and performing. Everyone got a cheer. I'd like to thank the staff and parents for their hard work and wish all our pupils and their families a great Christmas break."
