Kingsbury School raises money for Charity
St Nicholas Prep School in Kingsbury took an active part in the World's Biggest Coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The attendance was excellent and we raised a total of £182.91.
Many parents had generously donated cakes and biscuits, which were consumed along with a drink for a donation of £1.00. We had expected to confine visitors to one room only, but we allowed our guests to look into the classrooms, where the children were working hard. As the weather was so lovely, people later spilled over into the garden, much to the delight of the children, who had an extended break to be with the guests.
Due to this successful event, we intend holding monthly coffee mornings for parents, friends, neighbours and potential customers on the first Friday of each month, while the school is in session.
This summer we managed to raise a total of £772.65 for Action Medical Research on our Bring Your Bear Day. Earlier in the school year we had a visit from Paddington Bear himself, the mascot of Action Medical Research, for the second time. Lizzy Chapman, Bring Your Bear Events Manager of Action Medical research presented the school with a complete set of Paddington books to thank 'St Nicks' for our support for the past 11 years.
