Ann John investigation sent to Ed Miliband

THE LEADER of Brent Council has strongly denied accusations that she abused the planning process for a Hindu temple.
Labour leader Ed Miliband has been asked to look into the case, according to Brent Liberal Democrats, and Brent Council is already investigating the claim made against Council Leader Ann John OBE.

The Labour politician is alleged to have abused the planning process by seeking to 'influence the decision on a controversial application for a Hindu Temple'.
Ms John has lambasted the accusation and told the Observer: "This is complete rubbish and I have nothing to hide."
The accusations came to light after an email from a fellow Labour councillor was leaked, in which Ms John is accused of instructing councillors on the planning committee to vote against the temple as well as threatening disciplinary action.
Lib Dem deputy leader and planning and environment spokesperson, Daniel Brown, said: "These are serious allegations which strike at the heart of the integrity of the planning process at Brent Council. They must be investigated fully.
"It is essential that planning matters are handled with integrity and are seen to be so. Otherwise the council risks being brought into disrepute and residents will lose confidence in the planning system."
A Lib Dem spokesman said the allegations have been reported to the council's monitoring officer who has responsibility for overseeing the Councillors' Code of Conduct and The Standards Board for England, which oversees standards of conduct in local government.

You mean the same Ann John who closed our libraries?

The woman is a disgrace.
