Work experience placement plea for local students
A STUDENT support worker is appealing for local businesses to offer her pupils
work experience placements to 'nurture confidence and encourage independence'.
Victoria Everett, who works at Newman Catholic College, in Willesden, is helping year 10 students apply for work experience for July and needs more than 60 placements.
Mrs Everett is hoping that local businesses and organisations will hear her call for help and get in touch with opportunities.
She said: "Work experience is an important building block in helping school leavers to become more employable. It nurtures confidence and encourages independence, as well as a hard working ethos, while helping them to feel more positive in their studies.
"I need to find at least 60 placements, but I can't do this alone. Therefore, I would like to ask local business owners and employers to pledge their support to this cause, by offering work placements for these children."
