Harlesden man's 34 year jail term
A HARLESDEN man has been jailed for a minimum of 34 years for his part in a murder.
Anthony Ricardo Small, 32, of Harlesden High Street, was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Friday for his part in the killing of Anthony Dickson, 33, who was gunned down in Marvell Avenue, Hayes, in the early hours of December 24 2010.
Small was found guilty at the Old Bailey on November 8 2011 after denying the charge.
Small was sentenced alongside Max Felicino, 27, of Waylands in Hayes, who was found guilty of manslaughter and possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine. He was jailed for 14 years and three years, with both sentences to run consecutively.
Two other defendants were acquitted.
Detective Inspector Martin Ludlow, from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: "Anthony Dickson was someone's father and son. His family will have to come to terms with his violent, premeditated murder. I hope they take comfort in
knowing that the people responsible for his death will face a long time in jail.
"I hope this sentence acts as a deterrent to others involved in drug dealing and gun crime."
The court heard that Small and Felicino were drug dealers.
After a robbery by Anthony Dickson on a 'runner' who sold on behalf of the men on December 8 2010, Small made it known that Anthony Dickson had robbed one of his drugs dealers and that he was going to kill him.
On the evening of December 23 2010, the victim had arranged to meet Small in the area of Marvell Avenue.
His intention was to do a drugs deal to feed his habit.
A police spokesman said: "The victim arrived at the scene, got out of a car and went towards the park entrance.. Small and Felicino got out of a car. Small was carrying a loaded MAC-10 machine gun. Shortly after, gunshots were heard and the men returned to the car and drove away from the scene."
Anthony Dickson of The Green, West Drayton, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
